Unit Goals:
- Translate verbal expressions into math expressions. You should be able to write several phrases that mean addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Write an expression using exponents.
- Use the order of operations to evaluate expressions.
- Solve open sentences by performing arithmetic operations.
- Recognize, use, and explain the properties of identity, inverse, and equality.
- Recognize, use, and explain the distributive, commutative, and associative properties when simplifying expressions.
- Translate verbal sentences into equations or formulas.
